Audric S. H. Chia

As a dedicated athlete in baseball, softball, and floorball, Audric is passionate about applying psychological insights to enhance both individual resilience and team dynamics. His interest lies in understanding how psychological principles can improve mental well-being and performance, especially in high-pressure environments like competitive sports. Through ongoing volunteering and peer support roles, he have gained valuable experience working closely with individuals facing emotional and behavioral challenges, deepening his understanding of the practical applications of psychology.

Charlene Chan

Charlene, winner of the SPS Student Research Awards 2024, aims to integrate applied psychology with sustainable communication. She believes that psychological theories can be put into practice to target community needs, improving quality of life. In this VUCA world, she is intrigued by Emerging Adult issues like the Quarter-Life Crisis and climate stress, and how mindfulness-based practices may mitigate these stressors. She aspires to co-create with future leaders to promote equitable quality education and mindfulness-based practices through performance psychology in Southeast Asia.

Chia Yee Vone

Yee Vone majors in Psychology, Political Science, and Sociology (PPS). She is passionate advocate for dancer well-being, with a strong interest in both sports and performance psychology. As a dancer herself, she understands the importance of developing a healthier self-perception amongst dancers to help them prolong not just their career, but also in enabling their body to serve them as vessels for their passion. She believes that mental resilience and self-awareness are just as important as strength training and technique drilling. Through her articles, she aims to make psychological tools more accessible to dancers of all levels, and encourage a more balanced and empowered approach to both performance and personal growth.

Chow Chun Yu

Chun Yu is a graduate from Nanyang Technological University, where he pursued a degree in Psychology. He is especially drawn to industrial-organisational and behavioural psychology as he is interested in how people think, feel, and work, particularly in creating better workplaces through HR practices, employee engagement, and a strong organisational culture. He has had the chance to explore these areas during research internships at MINDEF, where he looked into ways to measure motivation, engagement, and workplace safety using both traditional and novel methods. Beyond research, he has also taught in a special needs school and served as a section commander in the military. These experiences have shaped his desire to work in roles that make a meaningful difference in how people experience their work.

Ethan Lim Jean En

Ethan is a Psychology major with a sporting background in gymnastics, having represented Singapore multiple times in the past. His people-oriented personality has always led him to pursue opportunities where he can interact with others, be it as a gymnastics coach, special needs educator, Sunday school teacher, or volunteer victim care officer. Ethan’s interests lie in clinical, educational, or forensic psychology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, playing the piano, and going on runs! He’s passionate about using his skills and experiences to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Heidi is passionate about performance psychology, with a keen interest in how motivation, focus, and mental strategies shape outcomes under pressure. She enjoys translating research into practical, accessible insights on topics like flow and self-control—tools that everyday individuals can use to thrive. Dedicated to making psychology both empowering and relevant, Heidi bridges scientific understanding with real-world application. In her free time, she unwinds by solving daily puzzles like Connections and MinuteCryptic, accompanied by a good cup of tea.

Hon Zhong Xin Daniel

Daniel is an avid sports-person turned triathlete after he discovered a passion for the trifecta of endurance sports (swimming, cycling and running) as a diploma student. Most recently, he raced the Ironman 70.3 in Danang, Vietnam, placing in the top 10 athletes for his overall age group. His goal is to conquer a full Ironman event as an endeavor for mental health awareness and charity in the near future. With personal experience in multisport racing, he hopes to provide a first-person perspective to topics such as mental resilience, intrinsic motivation, and self-efficacy. When not working or training, he is often exploring fun ways to push the limits of both his body and mind, to constantly take on the challenge called life.

Isabel Tay

Passionate about Formula 1 and the psychology behind elite performance, Isabel writes about the unique mental challenges faced by drivers at the pinnacle of motorsport. Her articles explore how focus, pressure, identity, and resilience shape life on and off the track. She hopes to de-stigmatise mental health in motorsports and highlight the psychological realities behind the glamour. Through race analysis and research-based insight, she aims to open up deeper conversations about mental wellbeing in high-performance environments. Join her in uncovering what it truly takes—mentally and emotionally—to race at 300km/h.

Judah holds a degree in Sports Science from University of the Philippines Diliman. He has a strong passion for sport psychology, particularly in using mental strategies to enhance athletic performance. Judah currently works as a research and program associate and has also volunteered with a humanitarian organization.

Sri holds a Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Studies from Nanyang Technological University. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, his primary interest lies in the psychological dimensions of resistance training. His work explores how resistance training can enhance psychological well-being, particularly in adolescents. He is committed to promoting positive development in young people through a holistic approach that integrates physical and mental wellness. Sri aspires to pursue his research in this field to further enhance well-being.

Qama Elias

Qama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). He is passionate about bridging the gap between everyday wellbeing and peak performance, with a strong interest in understanding human behaviour and connecting with people. Drawing on several years of experience as a behaviour therapist, he brings a grounded, practical perspective to his work. His background allows him to write with insight, empathy, and a focus on real-world application.

Her extensive practical experience spans clinical research, early childhood therapeutic interventions, and volunteer work with diverse populations across all age groups. Committed to translating psychological science into practical performance enhancement solutions, Renee aims to help individuals and organisations unlock their full potential.

Tan Meng Xiang, Danial

Danial is a Psychology major at the Singapore Management University’s School of Social Sciences. Passionate about Biopsychology, Medicine and Clinical Interventions, he contributes to research projects at the A*STAR Institute of Human Development and Potential (IHDP), including the Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes (GUSTO) study. His academic and research pursuits are driven by a deep interest in understanding the biological underpinnings of human behavior and developing evidence-based approaches to mental health care.

Venn holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and was a licensed Psychometrician from 2019 to 2022. As a former collegiate volleyball player who competed in the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic for 4 years, Venn's interest for mental toughness grew specially in the competitive scene of traditional sports, as well as in the growing scene of esports. She currently works as a Research and Programme Consultant, where she supports research about performance and mental skills development in different fields.
